Newspaper article described Codman's work as decorative artist; Exhibitions of artwork at Boston Atheneum, 1828 and 1832; and National Academy, NY. Commissioned by Governor Dunlap of Maine to execute painting of Capital in Augusta. Majority of of his work focused on islands, mountains, and forests of Maine. Died of tuberculosis 1842. |
